Campervan/Home on Wheels for Sale!

After 4 ½ years full-time on the road, it’s time for change. So with a heavy heart, I’m selling the van that has been my home for the last three years.

I thought I’d share it here before adding it to Trademe and Facebook Marketplace in case someone in my network is keen to check it out. I would love a quick and easy sell, so open to reasonable offers.

Asking price: $36,000

Currently located in St Johns, Auckland. Viewings welcome.

Easy to drive and reliable

This style van is perfect for anyone who wants a campervan that’s easy to drive and can go most places a normal car can. I’ve been travelling up and down the country in this van for the last three years and have loved how easy it is to drive and park.

The van is in great condition and has been well looked after. In three years, I never had any breakdowns or mechanical issues. All maintenance repairs have been done by professionals.

About the van:

  • 2003 Ford Transit TR350 LWB HI Roof

  • Turbo Diesel. Easily gets to 100km and does well on hills.

  • The van has done 320,000km, but it got a new engine at about 230,000km, so the engine has only done about 90,000km

  • Manual

  • Has been serviced regularly with a full Platinum Service ($450) done in April. Receipts for most repairs and services from myself and the two previous owners available)

  • Factory-built campervan

  • Certified Self-Contained for two (renewed this year so valid till 2026)

  • WOF expires Feb 2023

  • Electrical WoF renewed in March. Valid till 2026.

  • Length: about 5.7m

A perfect home away from home:

The van has a lot to offer for anyone looking for a home away from home – whether that’s full-time or part time.

  • 90w solar panel. Separate house battery.

  • 100l freshwater tank. New tank two years ago.

  • 90l grey water tank

  • Cassette toilet

  • Shower

  • Fiamma Awning

  • Gas heater to keep warm in winter

  • Tinted windows for privacy. You can look out but no one can look in.

  • Bed can be configured as large king or two singles. I upgraded to a custom spring mattress last year but only did the side I’m sleeping on. I still have the original squabs, so you could revert to that for both sides or upgrade the other side too.

  • Kitchen with fridge/freezer, sink, three-burner gas stove

  • Microwave

  • Hot water via calorifier tank

  • Professionally built racks for surfboards and paddleboards on the side (cost over $1,000)

  • Tow ball at front for bike rack (rack not included)

  • Super comfy hanging chair at back (professionally built)

  • Has a satellite dish and all the cables to connect a TV. I had the TV taken out to make room for a shelve, but this can easily be taken out.

  • One of a kind rear awning. See photos. It’s suffered a bit since the photo was taken. Still fully functional but some discolouration (might just need a good clean). Can easily be taken off if you don’t want it.

  • Lots of storage space!

Can come with a bunch of optional extras:

  • Plates, cutlery, pot and pan and kitchen utensils

  • Outdoor chair

  • Picnic blanket

  • Emergency water canister

  • Cushions

  • Grey water and freshwater hoses

  • Small 240v heater
